2011 Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility:

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in university or college pursuing an MFA, BFA, or a recognized 2-year program of similar status.
• Graduates may also apply; graduate applicants must have graduated within the 2010/11 calendar year.
• Applicants must be able to supply proof of enrollment or graduation upon notification of award.
• Applicants must be residents/citizens of Canada or the United States of America.



2. Application Process:

• The application requirements must be strictly adhered to.
• The granting body reserves the right to reject a submission without appeal.

2.1 Electronic Submissions:

• Applicants must supply a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of ten (10) images; applicants retain all related copyrights. In conjunction, students may elect to additionally link to an online portfolio.
1. All images must be in jpg format
2. Images should be no longer than 1200 pixels and no more than 72 dpi.
3. Images should be saved with standard compression.
4. Images must be named in the following format: YOUR LAST NAME, YOUR FIRST NAME 01.jpg

• Applicants must supply one (1) personal essay, minimum 1000 words and maximum of 3000 words, in the format supplied.
1. Essay questions must be typewritten or legibly printed.
2. Essays must be submitted in pdf format.

• Applicants must supply one (1) letter of recommendation.
1. Letters of recommendations should be personal in nature.
2. Letters of recommendation must be submitted in pdf format.

• Applicants must supply a signed/dated statement of authenticity (see application package).

3. Submission Deadline:

• Submissions are due November 14, 2010.


4. Award:

• The successful submission will be awarded at the sole discretion of the granting body.
• Friends and family are disqualified from this application process.
• Award will be determined on or before December 09, 2011

5. Grant:

• One (1), one thousand dollar ($1,000) grant will be awarded based upon the criteria outlined above (US Funds).
• The grant is forgivable and will be issued to the awarded applicant, via certified cheque/money order, postmarked on or before December 31, 2011.


6. Currency:

• One thousand ($1,000) US Funds.
• If awarded to a Canadian resident, funds will be issued in Canadian dollars based upon the currency exchange on the date of award
• Exchange rate to be determined by the Bank of Canada.


7. Notification:

• Only the successful applicant will be notified.
